Actually, the song was originally written by Johnny Christopher, Mark James, and Wayne Carson Thomas and recorded by Brenda Lee...then re-recorded by pretty much everyone from Elvis to The Pet Shop Boys to Michael Buble to Scotty McReery. But Willie's version has always been my favorite.
