RIP: Britney Spears & Jason Trawick

Here's the official statement from Britney: "Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."

Should we all go back on crazy watch now that Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have called off their engagement?  I really hope not.  I'll admit, I'm completely fascinated by Britney and I just don't want to see her go off the deep end again like she usually does when she breaks up with a guy.  I hope she's getting a lot of psychological care and that maybe, just maybe, the break up was mutual.

Trawick started out as Britney's agent and the two of them started dating soon after her dad became her conservator. Britney slowly started emerging from the bell jar and Trawick seemed like a decent enough guy.  He was successful-- unlike K FED.  He didn't have any illegitimate children.  And he didn't seem obsessed with the limelight (JT).  Plus, he had the perfect amount of douche-bag in him for Britney.  After they got engaged, Trawick became co-conservator with Jamie Spears which means that he was probably making a lot of Brit Brit's decisions for her.  This sounds like the ultimate co-dependent relationship.  It's never easy to leave someone when they completely rely on you and I'm worried Britney will fall apart without him.

I can't help it.  I feel bad for the girl.  I think anyone dealing with the level of fame she's had + post-partum depression + a divorce + losing custody of your kids + crystal meth would go nuts.  Even though her parents have their own issues, if it wasn't for them stepping in when they did, I think Britney would have died.

So...even though Britney suffered two blow offs in one week (she quit her judging gig on X-Factor, but it was common knowledge they were going to fire her anyway), I really hope Strong Britney is able to cope with all of it.  And maybe, just one day, when we look back on the Justin Timberlake/Britney Spears break up, we can finally say that Britney won.

Here's one of my fave documentaries ever, Britney: For The Record, which no joke, I've watched like five times. If you don't have time to watch the whole thing, go to the ten minute mark to hear Britney open up about her break-ups with Justin and Kevin. Tears.

  1. I will always and forever love Britney and it makes me so sad how she's turned out. While her family did step in and probably save her life I also feel like they are the ones that push her into X Factor and this possible Las Vegas residency for the $$. I don't think she cares about working and being famous anymore. They should let her go away for like 5 years.

I'm sad for her to have to go thru a break up but from all of the rumors that have been coming out it seems like Jason was her babysitter and made fun of her so I think it's for the best for her.

On a side note she looks SO much better in this video than she does today. Mostly in the face. I'm still hoping that one day the 2000 VMA Britney will come back!

  2. i love her. i loved them (until i just heard from the above that he made fun of her!!!). i love that documentary.

2000 VMA Britney is my dream as well!!!

  5. The documentary about Britney was also on french TV. It made me like her. And in the same time, i was sad for her.
I wish this blow off will not lead to another depression and that one day she will be able to enjoy her life without a paparazzi waiting outside of her house.
Oh yeah, she needs to win the break-up against Me Me Me Justin.

  6. French Cheese have you heard Justin Timberlake's new song? She's definitely winning in the song department!

    1. No, I did not hear it. But I will tonight.
For the winning in the song department I don't know. I don't like the last single Scream and shout.

    1. I think it sounds like a Lonely Island SNL parody song. Sad day when Dick In A Box is better than your single that was 10 years in the making.
